Last week we highlighted some of the popular and beloved beaches here on the beautiful island of Barbados. I then started to wonder, what should I highlight next? and then it hit me... SWIMSUITS! Beaches and swimsuits often go hand in hand- like pie and chicken, pudding and souse or even peanut butter and jelly lol. But I didn't want to highlight just any swimsuits, I wanted to show the local talents that we have here on island.
Zoe Bovell, is the owner and creator of Moda Studio. She is a past Fashion Design Student from the Barbados Community College and says that she has always had a passion for fashion! Zoe first started making clothes and grabbed at any opportunity she could get to show off her skills and creations. Whether it be at pop-up shops or even having her friends wear custom made pieces, Zoe ceased each opportunity. As her talent progressed, Zoe realised that she had a love for making swimsuits and has now been making them for the last two years!
With a smile Zoe expressed, "Every body is a swimsuit body!". Not only does Zoe hand make all of her swimsuits, she also caters to many body types, as she believes that swimsuits should always be inclusive to everyone. Her swimsuits each have a name, but so far, her favourite swimsuit is her newest creation which she named, "The Courtney"! Now you may be wondering if Zoe only creates swimsuits for females, but she also does shorts for males as well! Its a win win for everyone!
