I remember the first time my friends and I heard about Shark Hole in St. Philip- we told ourselves that as soon as we got some free time, we would go on an adventure!

It wasn't long before a few of us chose a day and we were set! To make things even more interesting, we decided that we would take the bus instead of driving, to get the complete adventure feel. But, with almost every road trip, there would be a few bumps. Our first bump was the fact that we had no clue where we were going, but we were determined to get there! We asked around and found out which bus we should catch, hopped into the bus and we were on our way. As we got closer to the East Coast, we asked the driver to tell us where to get off and where to find Shark Hole. We hopped out and tried our best to follow the directions, but of course we got lost! LOL!

We found some old men by a rum shop, and they also tried to help us find the beach, but we got lost again! We were walking up and down, UP AND DOWN- we were about to lose faith when a lady stopped us and said, "You looking for Shark Hole?" "YES PLEASE!" we all said in unison, she laughed as though this was a regular interaction for her. She gave us a new set of directions and alas! WE FOUND IT!

We found the steps and saw the most beautiful little spot! It was not like the usual East Coast beaches, that tend to be a bit rough. Shark Hole was calm and almost seemed like a little hidden piece of paradise. We put down our stuff and headed into the pool that was formed by the reef and two large rocks. It was simply amazing!

By now, you may be wondering if there are any sharks at Shark Hole, but don't worry, there are none thankfully, or at least no account of any. Although no one really knows how the spot got its name, people say that it is based on an old fisherman's tale. The spot is not the biggest, but it is very cozy and intimate. However, I would advise anyone to be careful of the tides. All in all, it was a great beach to go to, and the adventure in finding it added to the laughs and the memories.

If Shark Hole is a beach you are thinking of adventuring to, I would definitely recommend you to walk with a map, Google Maps or even Waze. But if you have none of the above, there will definitely be some friendly people around to give you directions. Have an open mind, this will come in handy when you start to get lost lol. And most of all be prepared to have a great time, take in some heart warming views and enjoy the adventure!

HAPPY BEACHING! :)
